“Painting and photography are my primary means of making sense of where I am physically and how I am connected with my location and others.
The physical as well as the artistic and spiritual journey through the landscapes of my homes have helped me understand my sense of place, and have become a metaphor to articulate Divine presence. The physical process of painting itself, particularly in the creation of the “Heaven and Earth series”, has become for me a medium of awareness of the Divine, and the final images are a vehicle for potentially encountering a sense of transcendence.
Much of my photography is a documentation of my daily life. Occasionally a sense of other or a Divine presence may be present in the moment, and it is this presence which I seek to convey.”
